Why Do 100 GSM Weed Mats Have Different Prices?
Have you ever compared two weed mats and wondered why both are called 100 GSM, but their prices are different?
This is a common question when buying weed mats.
The simple answer is that GSM is only one part of the product specification.
What Does GSM Mean?
GSM stands for grams per square metre.
A 100 GSM material weighs approximately 100 grams per square metre.
This gives you useful information about the material, but it doesn’t tell you everything about how that material is manufactured or woven.
Two products can have the same GSM and still be different products.
Our 100 GSM Options
At WeedMat Pro, we currently offer:
100 GSM Circular Weave – ₹25/m²
100 GSM Sulzer Weave – Black – ₹30/m²
100 GSM Sulzer Weave – Green – ₹35/m²
These are not simply three different prices for exactly the same product.
They are different product options.
Circular vs Sulzer Weave
Our 100 GSM Circular and 100 GSM Sulzer products use different weaving methods.
The Sulzer option is priced higher than the Circular option.
Therefore, when comparing weed mat prices, it is important to ask the seller what type of product is being offered.
Instead of asking only:
“How much is 100 GSM?”
ask:
“Which 100 GSM product is it?”
This small difference can prevent a lot of confusion.
Why Is Green Sulzer More Expensive?
Our black 100 GSM Sulzer costs ₹30/m².
The green version costs ₹35/m².
The specifications of the green and black Sulzer mats are the same.
The main reason for the difference is production volume.
The black version is produced in larger quantities, while the green version is produced in smaller quantities.
Why Transparency Matters
We believe customers should be able to compare products properly.
That’s why we don’t simply advertise:
“100 GSM weed mat – ₹25”
and leave customers to assume that every 100 GSM product costs the same.
Instead, we identify the product clearly.
This allows customers to decide whether they want the lower-priced Circular option or the higher-priced Sulzer option.
Is the Most Expensive Option Always Better?
Not necessarily.
The correct product depends on what you need.
Someone looking for a cost-effective weed-control solution may prefer one product, while another customer may specifically want the characteristics of a different weave.
The objective should not be to sell you the most expensive mat.
It should be to help you choose the product that makes sense for your application.
WeedMat Pro’s Pricing Approach
We are resellers, just like many other weed mat sellers in Kerala.
What we try to do differently is keep our margins relatively small and publish our regular prices openly.
We don’t want customers to feel that they need to negotiate just to get a reasonable price.
For bulk quantities, additional price reductions may be possible depending on the order.
Transparent information helps customers make better decisions.
That’s the approach we follow at WeedMat Pro.
