If you’re planning to buy weed mat, don’t choose a product based only on the price per square metre.

There are several things you should check before placing your order.

1. Check the GSM

GSM stands for grams per square metre.

75 GSM – ₹20/m²

and several 100 GSM options.

Remember that GSM is important, but it isn’t the complete product specification.

2. Check the Weaving Type

This is particularly important when comparing 100 GSM weed mats.

Our products include:

100 GSM Circular Weave – ₹25/m²

100 GSM Sulzer Weave – ₹30/m²

Both are 100 GSM, but they are different products.

If you simply ask for “100 GSM weed mat,” make sure you know which type you are being quoted.

3. Check the Width

The width of the roll can make a major difference to your installation.

Our available widths include:

75 GSM: 2 m

100 GSM Circular: 2.1 m

100 GSM Sulzer Black: 1.15 m, 2 m, 3 m, 4.2 m and 5.25 m

100 GSM Sulzer Green: 2 m

Choosing the appropriate width can reduce joints, cutting and unnecessary material usage.

4. Check Outdoor Performance

Weed mats are generally used outdoors, so you should check whether the product is designed for outdoor conditions.

Our weed mats are UV stabilized and water permeable, as expected from commonly available weed-control mats.

For our Sulzer weed mat, the stated weathering guarantee is up to five years, while expected lifespan can be up to ten years depending on conditions and use.

Actual lifespan can vary based on factors such as sunlight exposure, installation, physical wear and environmental conditions.

5. Check the Total Cost

Don’t look only at the price per square metre.

Consider the complete project:

• Required area
• Roll width
• Overlap
• Joints
• Nails
• Delivery
• Installation, if required

A slightly different roll width may sometimes make a significant difference to the amount of cutting and joining required.
